Care for a beverage? White Nectarine Champagne Cocktail
SXSW Coordinator, Hugh Forrest, emailed an announcement that “How to Make $$ with Your Blog Design Skills” made the “SXSW Honor Roll” of best panels. Wahoo!
This means, to paraphrase, that after processing all of the panel feedback forms from this year’s event, the panel we were involved with made the so-called “Honor Roll.” Our panel tallied an average score of 4.0 or above (on a 1 to 5 scale) on the feedback forms submitted by attendees at the end of our session.
How encouraging! I know that we are interested in participating again, so this has given us experience to grow from. We look forward to both being able to attend SXSWi 2007. Thanks to all who attended and voted for our panel!
I feel as though I start every month with “I can’t believe it’s [insert month here]!”, but seriously, where is the time going? Where? Are you hiding it? Give it!
I may have spread myself a bit thin this Spring, as I didn’t anticipate getting the flu for 2 weeks in March or what it would be like without Kathy here. She’s the cream in my coffee and working without her is very, very different and much, much busier. I feel like I’m missing a limb… and my favorite one at that. I’m running a wee bit behind, but hopefully will be caught up by the end of this month. There may be growing pains once in a while, but no pain, no gain as they say.
My current schedule is full until the end of June. I will be taking a month or so off (like, really, really off. No estoy aqui. “Dave’s not here” kind of off. No, really.) to handle some super-cool things here that we’ve got happening in the near future. Add in a trip to Atlanta to finalize and do the creative and development on our completely new site scheduled for launch in late Summer. We’ll also be meeting with the illustrator of our cheeky characters, the fabulous Derek Yaniger, while I’m there. How exciting!
I’ve got a few clients tentatively scheduled for the early Fall. I will be able to take limited requests for Fall/Winter 2006 and, though I do have one client scheduled, I’m not booking for 2007 just yet. If you sign up for the mailing list, you’ll be kept apprised of all the Moxie shenanigans and goings on.
Please feel free to contact me if you have a project for that time frame. We can set up a time to chat over the phone to discuss your project in detail and work together to design the best creative solution for you. Or, more simply, “We’ll whip you up somethin’ sassy.” Please give me day or two to reply to your email.
Thanks and have a wonderful May!
If you haven’t heard about ExtraTasty.com yet and you’re into cocktailing, you should definitely check it out. It’s like the Flickr of cocktails! Tags and friends and drink recipes galore! Good times, good times.
Since we are known to be martini mavens around here, we submitted our Moxietini™ recipe to ExtraTasty and lo! The Moxietini™ is today’s Drink of the Day! Thanks, ExtraTasty!
I’m Alive! Barely. The baby is crying in the background and it has taken me all day to write this post. The joys of motherhood! Just a quick update on my schedule as I have gotten a couple “It’s April! Where are you?” emails. I do not have a definitive start date on coming back to work just yet. I am in the midst of moving to Georgia this month and with a 3 month old, packing sure is a challenge. That said, I will be returning on a part time basis at the end of the month/early May officially, but am already starting work on a few odds and ends for some existing clients.
So I am unofficially back to work, but with a baby who doesn’t nap much (read: hardly at all) during the day, I have little time for luxuries like showers let alone a few uninterrupted hours at my desk, so I use the term “part-time” loosely. I already have accepted a few small projects that will be consuming my time through May and possibly into early June, so any new projects I accept will likely have a start date of something like early to mid-summer. I am accepting a limited number of projects for that time, depending on the size. Anyone needing a project done during that time, please get your inquiries in to me now and I will get out some proposals as soon as I can. First come first serve! I am checking email and if you have sent me something I did get it and am responding as quickly as I can, so I appreciate everyone’s patience!
The baby is hungry again so off I go. Happy Spring!
For all you designers out there (budding or professional) there’s a contest on right now called The Style Contest. It’s brought to you by Six Apart (the makers of Movable Type, for those who don’t know) and Adobe, among others.
Kathy and I were honored to be asked by Six Apart to be on the judging panel along with Derek Powazek, Jason Santa Maria from Happy Cog and John Allsopp. If you dig LiveJournal, MT or Typepad and you can design your way out of a hole in the ground, then this is the contest for you. Good prizes, too! Check it out.
Ok, so it's not really a magazine. It's barely even a newsletter. "Low-volume" is an understatement. We save the mailing list for the really exclusive stuff or the really BIG stuff. So, you can feel confident signing up without fear of us flooding your inbox.
But if mailing lists don't blow your dress up, you can catch us on Twitter, Facebook or subscribe to our RSS feed.
We may be bijou, but we're the cat's pajamas, so we're only able to accept a limited number of projects per season. We encourage you to submit your inquiry early.
Kathy is available for new projects in March 2012.
Joelle is available for new projects in June 2012.

Oops! We ran out of vacation time over the holidays and it's time to get back to our clients. This section is still in progress, but it will be finished very soon.
Most of our other sections are ready to go, though, like Services and About Us.
