We are thrilled to spread the news that pMachine, Inc., the company who created our
favorite
and wildly popular content management system, ExpressionEngine (EE), has changed its name. Out with pMachine, IN with EllisLab! Here’s a bit about the changes straight from the horse’s mouth. Or, in this case, Rick Ellis, CEO:
Over the past three years, ExpressionEngine has grown by leaps and bounds in popularity. In fact, as a brand it had eclipsed pMachine. So when we set out to define our 2007 goals we decided it was time to move ExpressionEngine to its own site. And since I always felt the name pMachine was confusing given our discontinued app, we decided to re-brand the company (and our hosting company).
So there you have it! New name, completely new site, logo and everything else, designed by the ever-talented Jesse Bennett-Chamberlain of 31Three.
Speaking of… we would also like to add that we were asked by EllisLab to be members of their Advisory Board alongside some of the top names (and talent!) in the design/development community. We are honored to be asked and look forward to working closer with the EE team and these incredible designers in the future.
Cheers, EllisLab! We love you guys. “For realz”, as the kids say.
